Insulate and receive a subsidy

  • 10 June 2019

The new generation of high-speed spiral doors from EFAFLEX are specially designed to combat energy loss. All doors come standard with thermal break slats and PU foam insulation filling: the EFA-THERM® insulation slat.

In the food industry, the consistent quality of cooled products is essential. You also strive for a responsible use of raw materials. Constant and precise cooling is required. Moreover, when opening a door very frequently, you want a high degree of insulation as well as a door that can withstand heavy loads, such as major temperature changes. The EFA-SST-ISO-60, with 60 mm thick slats, is the ideal sealing door for this situation.

Specifically for freezing cells, the high-speed spiral door SST-TK®-100 is a very high-quality one-door solution. The high-speed door reaches high opening and closing speeds and has very good insulation values. The complete door achieves a U value of 0.62 W/m2K, and the slats even achieve 0.24 W/m2K. Because the SST-TK®-100 features a special sealing mechanism that hermetically closes the door, it is possible to save up to 50% in energy costs. An additional advantage is that this high-speed door is on the list for Energy Investment Allowance (EIA) and is therefore eligible for a subsidy.

Ventilating in warm spaces

Not only cold spaces need to be properly sealed. The same applies to warmer spaces. What makes this difficult is that in some halls, the temperature can rise significantly, while the door can and may not be (constantly) open in order to guarantee quality and food safety. Specifically for these rooms, EFAFLEX can replace the slats with ventilation grilles, including fine-meshed fly mesh. Perfect for the food industry.
