Entrepreneurs can apply for DEI+ subsidy starting from February 15, 2024, for demonstration projects focused on the gasification of residual streams, such as organic waste. This innovative approach, where a production facility converts organic material into gas, provides a sustainable alternative to fossil fuels and contributes to the transition to renewable energy sources.
The subsidy is specifically intended for the demonstration of installations that gasify waste, including biogenic residual streams. This process results in syngas, which can then be used for the production of green gas, methanol, advanced transportation fuels, or as a raw material in the industry. Utilizing renewable sources in this way stimulates a circular economy.
In the production facility, waste such as green waste and demolition wood undergoes a gasification process at high temperatures or pressures, resulting in syngas. This versatile product can serve as a raw material for fuels like green gas and various chemicals. The use of syngas supports the transition to sustainable energy and aligns with a circular approach to raw materials.
The subsidy, valued at €98 million, is financed by the Climate Fund. This fund, a key instrument from the coalition agreement, contributes to the goal of at least 55% reduction in CO2 emissions by 2030. Entrepreneurs investing in the demonstration and scaling of gasification technology can apply for this subsidy.
Entrepreneurs can apply for the DEI+ subsidy: Gasification of Residual Streams from February 15, 2024, to August 29, 2024. For a successful application, it is essential that entrepreneurs have the required permits and meet the sustainability criteria of the renewable energy directive.
