Highest point new building Sligro

The highest point of the construction of the delivery service distribution centre for Sligro in Deventer was celebrated in a festive manner on Thursday 28 March. The new building on Bedrijvenpark A1 covers 22,500 m².

Successful construction

By revealing a cloth in the top of the steel construction, the highest point was celebrated. The official act was performed by Gerrit Buitenhuis, director Supply Chain of Sligro Food Group, Thomas Walder, alderman of the municipality of Deventer and Marco van der Laan, director of Aan de Stegge Twello. At the end of the unveiling, a toast was given to the successful continuation of the construction and operation of Sligro at A1 Business Park Deventer.

Strategic location and optimal logistics

Gerrit Buitenhuis talks about the new building in Deventer: "This location is beautifully centrally located for delivery to Sligro and Heineken's catering customers in the eastern Netherlands. In addition, new construction also gives you the opportunity to optimally attune the building to the logistics process. With this new delivery-service wholesaler and the existing cash-and-carry wholesaler, Deventer will become an important city for Sligro.

Through short lines of communication and a controlled LEAN process, together with Sligro we are able to realize a beautiful and complete building in a short time.

22,500 m² new construction

In the new delivery service distribution centre for Sligro, various spaces will be realised, including a 4,430 m² cold store, a 1,900 m² cold store, dry grocery storage and a refrigerated multifunctional expedition. The building will be equipped with offices, the necessary workspaces and other spaces to serve the business process. At the front 39 docks for loading and unloading will be realised.

BREEAM

The modern new building will be equipped with the latest sustainable techniques and will be realised gas-free. Heating takes place by means of residual heat from the cooling and freezing installation. In combination with many other sustainable applications and construction methods, the aim is to achieve 'BREEAM Outstanding' certification.

The new distribution centre for Sligro will be completed in mid-2019.
