The Dutch Ministry of Health, Welfare and Sport has awarded a €800,000 grant to Foodvalley NL's Healthier Food – Innovate for Good Community. This initiative aims to improve the accessibility of food that promotes health and combat malnutrition.
The grant demonstrates the Dutch government's support for creating viable businesses and models that work towards healthier food environments, making healthy choices easier.
Foodvalley is mapping the innovation ecosystem and identifying barriers to creating a healthier food environment, considering aspects such as salt, sugar, fat, and fiber content in alignment with national and international recommendations.
The Healthier Food – Innovate for Good Community will bring together key players from various sectors, including start-ups, corporates, retailers, manufacturers, non-profit organizations, knowledge institutions, and investors. Through collective action, the community will lead initiatives, processes, and products that boost a healthier assortment.
The first international partner initiatives of the Healthier Food – Innovate for Good Community are planned for late 2023 and early 2024, as part of Foodvalley's Food & Health Innovation Field.
