Food safety in 2025

On the afternoon of 8 March, a large number of members will be attending the mini congress on ‘Food safety in 2025’ at Kupan in Varsseveld. It is clearly a topic that a lot of people are interested in, judging from the 100 or so registrations from over 50 different companies. With the programme featuring Norbert ten Brinke from Kupan BV, Herman Bessels from Bessels Architekten & Ingenieurs architectural and engineering firm and trendwatcher Rob Creemers, it is sure to be an inspiring afternoon. I will of course be there too because I love gazing into my crystal ball!

It’s all about gathering knowledge in order to prepare for the future. You can do that by attending events like the one at Kupan and by sparring with fellow OSV members. With our publications and website, we gather together relevant information from the sector and we regularly involve our members in doing so. We’ve got our own ‘big data’ in house! We hope that all the input will help us to make sound decisions, now and in the future.

And in terms of big data, it is rapidly becoming an indispensable part of our society, so it’s high time to make good use of it. In various workshops we will be teaching you how to handle big data, how it can help you and which pitfalls to watch out for, so keep a close eye on the website! Before long, we will all have our own personalised and online ‘crystal data ball’.
