The Dutch food supply chain is looking for tangible ways to improve its production impact. That is why Food Pioneers is launching Goed Gemaakt to connect farmers, suppliers, and the foodservice industry. This initiative makes existing products more sustainable using Dutch crops and side streams. The goal is to reduce waste, increase biodiversity, and accelerate the protein transition. Through this direct collaboration, sustainability within the chain finally becomes concrete and measurable.
The platform supports the foodservice sector in achieving their CSRD targets. In fact, every project generates impact data for reporting and communication purposes. This path provides farmers with fair pricing and new market opportunities. Suppliers also receive guidance on product sustainability and the development of new applications. The chain operates in three steps, from raw material to implementation. This ensures that the impact is made transparent for all stakeholders involved.
Organizations can choose from two routes to improve their offering. Route A focuses on the direct procurement of local raw materials. This involves products such as fava beans, potatoes, or seasonal vegetables. The platform fully guarantees quality, logistics, and volumes. Route B focuses on reformulation through current suppliers. In this case, local or regenerative alternatives replace a portion of the existing ingredients.
The initiative bets on scalable products and distinctive ingredients. By linking producers and buyers, tangible results are created. The evidence-based data makes sustainable choices visible to both guests and employees. In this way, the platform helps organizations make better use of side streams and crops. The focus remains on a food system with less waste. Collaboration throughout the entire chain is central to its success.
