On April 2 and 3, the Brabanthallen in Den Bosch hosted a successful edition of Empack and Packaging Innovations. More than 300 exhibitors and a strong content-driven programme drew professionals from across the packaging industry – including the food sector – for two days of knowledge sharing, inspiration and practical solutions.
With a record number of dedicated theme zones, the event created plenty of space for innovation. In the Empack Etalage, companies showcased their latest products. At Automation4Packaging, visitors saw how automation and smart machinery are streamlining packaging processes. Both the Empack Theater and the Packaging Innovations Theater featured in-depth sessions focused on the future of packaging.
During the third edition of Pitch Your Product, Lisanne Peters from Symbiomatters won with her pitch on biodegradable soft foam as a packaging insert: “This award brings us significant recognition in the packaging field.” A new feature, Solve My Problem, gave visitors the opportunity to present their packaging challenges to a panel of experts, resulting in concrete, actionable advice.
Packaging Innovations placed strong emphasis on design, branding, and reusable packaging solutions. The Reuse & Refill Pavilion and the Co-Packers Pavilion attracted plenty of attention. At the Partner Village, visitors engaged in conversation with organisations such as HAS Green Academy and Green Serendipity. The event also featured in the PakPraat podcast, supported by sponsor Empack.
“Many startups visit us. That leads to valuable conversations,” said Kate Witjes of Graphic World. Angélique Meester from RobertPack noted: “We’ve had many familiar faces stop by. Visitors come with specific requests.” Koen Smulders, Sales Manager at Skillpack, summed it up: “The atmosphere is fantastic.”
