DNA Services acquires Weegbaas

DNA Services from Hendrik-Ido-Ambacht has recently acquired Weegbaas from Veenendaal. This announcement was made on 16 May, the second day of Food Tech Event 2024. With this acquisition, DNA secures a majority stake in Weegbaas, a leading software company providing cloud software for the food industry.

Weegbaas is renowned for its brand and system-independent software for weighing equipment and administrative software. The company also offers mobile web applications such as Magazijnbaas for order picking and Bezorgbaas for drivers. Additionally, it provides related hardware like scales and hand scanners. The merger with DNA creates an innovative combination with forty years of experience and a team of thirty-five employees.

Expansion of services and IT management

The acquisition ensures a combined solution of software and hardware for clients. Existing contracts remain unchanged, ensuring continuity of service. Clients will also benefit from additional IT support, especially in cybersecurity. DNA Services brings an experienced team to support Weegbaas in platform innovations, accelerating the development and implementation of new technologies.

Growth and strategic collaboration

André Meerkerk, founder of Weegbaas, highlights that the acquisition offers opportunities for innovation and growth. "The collaboration with DNA Services gives us the space to focus on expanding our platform and customer base," says Meerkerk. Hans de Wit, commercial director of DNA Services, views the acquisition as a strategic move. "This partnership allows us to achieve scalable growth within the food industry and provide added value to production and processing companies," says De Wit.

The combination of DNA Services and Weegbaas strengthens their position in market segments such as meat, fruit and vegetables, dairy, fish, and logistics. This acquisition expands their customer base and solidifies their position as a reliable IT partner in the food industry.

In April 2022, FreshERP software was acquired by DNA Services.
