Danone Nederland and Too Good To Go have joined forces to actively reduce food waste. Following a successful pilot, the collaboration has officially launched, giving Danone products such as Alpro plant-based drinks and Olvarit meals a second chance through the Too Good To Go app. These products, which are still fit for consumption but can no longer be sold through regular channels, are offered in the form of Magic Pakketten. These packages are sold via the app and delivered directly to consumers' homes. In the first few months alone, 180,000 products have already been saved from waste.
Too Good To Go’s Partner Manager Flint van Dijk highlights the advantages of the collaboration. Offering well-known brands like Alpro and Olvarit in the Magic Pakketten creates a win-win situation. Saving food not only conserves resources like water, but also reduces greenhouse gas emissions. According to Too Good To Go’s calculations, saving one kilogram of food can prevent 2.7 kilograms of CO2 emissions, along with saving 810 litres of water. The partnership with Danone, which began as a pilot, has quickly proven to be successful, with plans for further growth in the future.
