Dalco Food is set to move its operations from Oss to a facility in Oosterhout. This decision has sparked concerns among the workforce in Oss, where over 50 employees are faced with significant changes. The Oss production site is scheduled to close by the end of this year, leaving employees with the tough choice of either relocating with the company or seeking opportunities elsewhere. However, the move to Oosterhout does not guarantee positions for all, as approximately 15 staff members are likely to be surplus to requirements.
Dalco Food, known for its vegetarian and vegan product range, has seen its workforce reduce from 70 to just over 50 in the past year. Since 2021, the company has been a wholly-owned subsidiary of the UK-based Hilton Food Group. The closure of the Oss site had been in the pipeline for some time, but the relocation plans have been fast-tracked.
To address these changes, the management, in collaboration with the works council of Hilton Food Dalco - representing employees from both locations - is actively working on a social plan. This plan includes enhanced severance arrangements for those who may not transition to the Oosterhout site.
