Colubris Cleantech Celebrates 40th Anniversary

  • 09 January 2024

The Winterswijk based family-owned business, Colubris Cleantech, marks its 40th year milestone. Founded by Gertie van den Hurk, the machine and construction company has evolved over four decades into a globally renowned organization specializing in separation and purification technologies.

On January 3, 1984, Van den Hurk established the machine and construction company Redes in Winterswijk. After a few years, the name changed to Redox, laying the foundation for the company's new direction focused on Water and Recycling. Further growth was expedited through the acquisition of various companies, including K-Pack from Amersfoort and Ingenieursbureau Schneider from Terborg. In 2018, the various business segments merged into one company: Colubris Cleantech. In addition to Water and Waste, the company also ventured into technologies for valorizing plant-based residues, known as Bioresource Solutions.

In recent years, the company has experienced impressive growth, completing over 4,000 projects in more than 70 countries worldwide. New branches were established in Oman and Hungary, and membrane specialist BLUE-tec from Wageningen was acquired. Currently, around 125 people are employed at Colubris Cleantech.

Frank Tillmann, CEO since 2018, stated, "This year, we will also engage in various activities to celebrate the anniversary. Furthermore, we are immensely grateful for the customers, partners, and dedicated team members who have played an essential role in the success and expansion of Colubris Cleantech over the past 40 years. We remain committed for the next 40 years to our mission of contributing to a circular world economy by combining our unique expertise and providing the best solutions for our customers."
