Consumer goods and services were 14.3 per cent more expensive in October than in the same month a year earlier, reports CBS. In September, inflation was 14.5 per cent. Energy price developments had a downward effect on inflation, food provided an upward effect.
Food prices rose further in October. Food was 14.0 per cent more expensive than in October 2021. In September, the year-on-year price increase was 12.8 per cent. This increase came mainly from bread, cereals and dairy products.
The price trend of energy (electricity, gas and district heating) had a dampening effect on inflation last month. Energy was 173 per cent more expensive in October than in the same month a year earlier. In September 2022, energy was 200 per cent more expensive than in September 2021.
