Boermarke expands plant-based range to Foodservice

  • 03 July 2024

Boermarke, known for its dairy products, made a significant shift in mid-2023 by fully transitioning to plant-based alternatives. This decision has proven successful, with their plant-based yogurt, cheese, and ice cream now available in supermarkets across 24 European countries. Boermarke is now extending this initiative to the Foodservice sector to further support the protein transition.

New brand name Vairy

Starting from August 1, 2024, Boermarke will introduce a comprehensive range of plant-based products under the new brand “Vairy”. This range includes plant-based custard, yogurt, bavarois, ice cream, and cheese. Boermarke is responding to the increasing demand for plant-based alternatives within the hospitality, catering, and healthcare sectors. These sectors have set goals to replace a significant percentage of animal proteins with plant-based proteins.

Collaboration with Vivera

In addition to launching Vairy, Boermarke has partnered with Vivera, a well-known brand in meat substitutes. This collaboration leverages Boermarke's sales and distribution network, bringing a wide range of plant-based products to the market. The complete range includes both sweet and savory desserts such as yogurt and custard alternatives, plant-based ice cream, bavarois, cheese alternatives, and meat substitutes.

CO2 monitor for customers

A notable addition to Boermarke’s offerings is the launch of a CO2 monitor. This tool allows customers to receive an annual report on their CO2 savings, which can be used to develop their own CO2 reduction plans. These initiatives highlight Boermarke’s commitment to sustainability and the protein transition in the food industry.
