On 1 March 2014 Alewijnse Industrie changed its name to ‘Alewijnse Industrial Automation’. The reason for the change is the internationalisation of the business line in which Alewijnse currently operates. The company’s director, Ernst-Jan Huijbers, says: “We market our knowledge internationally, and in the food sector in particular we are increasingly seeing foreign players coming to The Netherlands. Since we intend to increasingly deploy our knowledge and experience abroad, an English name is a logical step.”
