Adri & Zoon acquires De Meulemeester

As of April 1, 2025, Adri & Zoon has acquired the family-run business De Meulemeester. Established in 1870, De Meulemeester is known as the oldest company in Yerseke’s shellfish industry. While Adri & Zoon started out 41 years ago as a mussel supplier, De Meulemeester’s roots lie in oyster farming. The acquisition brings together two companies with a shared foundation in shellfish.

Expertise and alignment

De Meulemeester specialises in lobsters, oysters and other shellfish. Adri & Zoon has grown into a full-range supplier of fish, crustaceans and shellfish. With this acquisition, the company gains valuable expertise and strengthens its position in the chain. “This acquisition brings us even closer to the source and allows us to safeguard the quality of our products,” Adri & Zoon states.

Packaging under own management

A key advantage is that packaging will now be handled entirely in-house. This gives Adri & Zoon more control to meet customer demands and quality standards. According to the company, this step will add extra value for clients—something they look forward to with confidence.
