11 food sector companies in KVK Innovation top 100

  • 04 October 2022

On Tuesday 4 October 2022, KVK presented the ranking of 100 concrete innovations realised by Dutch small and medium-sized enterprises for the 17th time. In 2022, there are 11 companies from the food and agri sector in the top 100.

The selection was made from almost 350 entries. All nominations were judged on impact for the industry and society, originality, availability, realised turnover and growth potential. Below is an overview of the 11 companies from the food sector.

AgXeed BV makes AgBots that are an innovative alternative to standard tractors and harvesters. These agricultural robots are autonomous, GPS-based. The robots can perform tasks completely independently.

Aquamar Disinfection Products BV developed the Pro-Vida nanobubble generator for greenhouse horticulture. This allows easy addition of oxygen to the water, which does not disappear before the water reaches the plants.

Cyclups Creation BV has developed a brand new non-plastic called Plantastiq (PLQ). It is made from residual grain (stem) waste, is completely biodegradable and compostable.

Fikweert Vision Technologies BV has developed the Quality Grader: a grader capable of independently sorting unwashed potatoes according to quality.

Groentegoed makes spreads from all kinds of vegetables without added e-numbers and sugars. In the production process, they use as many 'wasted' vegetables as possible that are not suitable for sale in the supermarket.

JOZ BV developed the Nitrogen Cracker Gazoo, which allows farmers to convert organic manure into mineral fertiliser. This reduces nitrogen emissions 80%, and allows farmers to produce liquid fertiliser on their own land.

Karma Kebab has developed a vegan kebab based on celeriac.

Koppert Cress launched an exclusive range of Dutch premium quality Planifolia vanilla; an orchid species that only gives pods after three years.

Pieter Pot is the first online packaging-free supermarket to deliver groceries in circular pots on a national scale.

Pixelfarming Robotics developed the Robot One: an autonomous agricultural robot for crop care and weed control.

The Waste Transformers converts non-consumable food waste from businesses and communities locally into green energy and natural fertilisers.

Announcing

On 30 November 2022, a jury chaired by Ruud Koornstra will announce the exact ranking of each company in the KVK Innovation Top 100. Then it will also be clear which company takes over the number 1 position from Grown.bio in Gelderland and can call itself the most innovative SME company in the Netherlands for a year.
