Winners Rabo Sustainable Innovation Award 2020

Thursday evening 26 November 2020, the Rabo Sustainable Innovation Award was presented to Rival Foods, SusPhos and Bilihome. Rabobank crowns them as sustainable thinkers, entrepreneurs who with a healthy dose of self-conceit leave the world better behind with impactful innovations. During an online live broadcast by RTL Z, the winners received their prize of 20,000 euros. The audience prize, a ScaleUpScan from ScaleupNation worth €3,000, went to Rival Foods.

Rival Foods, winner category Food & Agri

The Food & Agri category prize was awarded to Rival Foods during the 18th edition of the RDI. They make vegetable meat substitutes, in such a way that after preparation the mouthfeel is the same as with the animal competition. With a fibrous structure and just as juicy, made possible by their own Shear Cell technology.

SusPhos, winner category Circular Economy & Climate

SusPhos wins in the category Circular Economy & Climate, a startup that developed a unique process that adds a new dimension to waste material recycling. They produce high quality bio-based flame retardants and specialized fertilizer products from phosphate-rich wastewater from, among others, agriculture.
