Westland and Vegan Cowboys launch vegan cheese

  • 07 December 2020

Westland Cheese and Those Vegan Cowboys will bring a new vegetable cheese to the market next year. Both companies see cheese without the use of animals as the cheese that offers the most future. CEO Henny Westland: " This is an important step in our mission to have one hundred million people enjoy climate-neutral cheese in a sustainable way by 2036". Those Vegan Cowboys founder Jaap Korteweg: "We both care about the best taste."

Tasteful collaboration

The two companies are starting the new cheese line from a joint new company. Henny Westland: " Cooperation is in our blood. Because we don't have our own cows, we can make the transition to the new vegetable cheese easy. Jaap Korteweg is convinced of the added value of the partnership: " We always worked with parties from the traditional industry and top chefs at De Vegetarische Slager. With really tasty vegetable cheese we accelerate the transition to a more sustainable and animal-friendly production of food''.

Westland Kaas and Those Vegan Cowboys share a common conviction that vegan cheese should be tasty. Westland and Korteweg: "We make cheese for the real cheese lover. That's why our products taste at least as good as the traditional variant."

The cheese line will be launched under a new joint brand name that will in time consist of various products.
