China has lifted the import blockade on pork from Vion in Groenlo and Boxtel as of today. This gives Vion back the recognition to export to China. John de Jonge, COO Vion Pork, is happy with this good news.
"It is important for Vion to have China back as a market. The export share of Vion's total volume sales to Asia is substantial and a large part of this is destined for China. The resumption of sales to China will start again from now on and that is important for the square value of the porker. Also in relation to the situation on the German market, where AVP leads to great uncertainty and sales of mature pigs are under pressure, a global complementary sales portfolio is essential''.
