The food100 list of 2020

Over the past few weeks, an independent professional jury has been busy assessing more than 300 applications for the food100 list. A list of established leaders and up-and-coming talent who are working daily for a better and more sustainable food system. In addition to the four usual criteria (decisiveness, innovativeness, PPP and sharing), this year the jury also looked at people who managed to distinguish themselves in a special way during the corona crisis. Who showed entrepreneurship and leadership? What are the inspiring examples of social innovation in food? Who have been working in front of and behind the scenes for a good food chain?

From the candidates 50 change makers (up to 30 years old) and 50 game makers (30 years and older) were selected. From these, 6 food heroes are chosen who receive a special mention for their extraordinary achievements over the past year. The food heroes of 2002 will be announced on Monday 31 August at 10.30 a.m. during a special broadcast of Studio Food100.

The jury and initiators express their confidence in the 2020 list: "The list is a nice reflection of those who dare to do things differently. Not only do we see a nice distribution with food changers from all over the Netherlands, but also from all levels in the food chain: from progressive farmers and agriculturists to teachers and scientists, from young entrepreneurs to professionals with years of experience. But also influential chefs and bloggers. But above all, those who have been elected are all individuals who, with their ideas and initiatives, are the drivers of change".
