Ter Beke has indicated to close its Offerman factory in Aalsmeer. Sixty to seventy employees are likely to lose their jobs as a result. According to message from the FD.
The main cause of the closure seems to be last year's listeria infection. Ter Beke actually wanted to renovate the factory, but has decided not to do so. A renovation would cost too much money, because the listeria bacteria also appears to be in the walls of the hall. A small production hall, where Offerman mainly produces halal meat, still remains open.
