TastyBasics wins Annual Good Food Award 2020

  • 10 September 2020

TastyBasics, with its Muesli Noten & Pitten, is the winner of the Annual Prize for Good Food 2020. The title is an award for the valuable contribution that the company makes to improving the diet of the Dutch population. It breaks the pattern of processed foods with empty calories. TastyBasics Muesli Nuts & Kernels, available from Albert Heijn, has a low carbohydrate content and is rich in fibre, protein and other essential nutrients, according to the expert jury. In addition, the jury considers it 'a tasty muesli that fits into a healthy diet'. By winning the Year Prize for Good Food, TastyBasics is leaving behind the Mini Pizza Wraps of PLUS and the Protein rich breakfast of BonDuo.

Recognition of important step for 'new normal' in food

The expert jury took the outcome of the public vote into account in the final assessment. The Muesli Noten & Pitten received the most votes. TastyBasics only develops products with unprocessed ingredients such as vegetables, fruit, nuts, seeds and legumes. These are rich in fibre and protein and naturally give a longer feeling of satiation. This also applies to the winning Muesli Nuts & Kernels. Jan Buining, founder of TastyBasics and ambassador for healthy and sustainable food: "We couldn't have gotten a bigger compliment from the expert jury and the public for our muesli. We are proud that our no-nonsense 'back to basics' approach is gaining recognition within the food industry".
