On Friday, March 29th 2024 vakblad Voedingsindustrie had the unique opportunity to witness a remarkable event at Ameco BV in Apeldoorn: the relocation of their new sustainable cooling system. This marked a critical moment for all construction partners involved in this ambitious project. For many, it was the first time experiencing such a relocation method. Despite doubts about the success of this endeavor, the impressive journey began around 7:30 pm. I braced myself for a long and cold evening, but to my surprise, the installation was precisely in place within an hour. 😊

The following Saturday saw the installation definitively integrated with the existing building, and by Tuesday morning, Ameco was fully operational again. This not only highlighted a technical milestone but also marked the start of a new phase in sustainability and innovation for Ameco.

The construction of this cooling installation was a paragon of innovation from the start. Strategically placed next to the existing facilities, the approach ensured minimal disruption to daily operations, with a hull relocation completed in just one weekend. The project was distinguished by the use of sustainable techniques and methods, from the noiseless driving of the foundation piles to the final positioning of the installation. These steps ensured that Ameco's production could continue without interruption.

With the successful placement and integration of the new installation, Ameco underscores its commitment to sustainability and innovation. The cooling system offers numerous benefits, including the reuse of heat for the heat exchanger, which eliminates the need for gas, and maintains 100% value through the expansion of cooling capacities. Moreover, the project contributes to faster cooling, better product shelf life, more efficient cleaning cycles, water conservation, and improved animal welfare.

This project illustrates what is possible when innovation and sustainability work together. For a full report on the project with accompanying photos, please visit ameco2030.com.
