Saving energy: toolkit for the oils and fats industry

  • 08 October 2026

Producers of margarine, fats and oils have a new toolkit for saving energy. VIBE-2030 brings together solutions suited to their production processes. The toolkit provides insight into investments and expected energy savings. This helps companies assess which measures are relevant to their production operations.

The first two toolkits were launched on Tuesday, October 6. The launch took place at the Industrial Heat & Power trade show in Den Bosch. Alongside the margarine, fats and oils industry, the plastics processing industry also received a toolkit. Companies, consultants and the VIBE team pooled their expertise over the past few months.

Practical information for companies

The toolkits offer practical guidance and examples for industrial companies. They also provide information on subsidies, financing and permit requirements. This information is collected in one place, reducing the research companies need to do.

Program runs through 2030

These are the first two toolkits in a series. VIBE-2030 is developing toolkits for around 25 industrial sectors. The program runs from 2025 through 2030.

VIBE stands for Versnelling Industriële Besparing Energie and helps companies make their production processes more sustainable. For example, the program considers opportunities to save energy using new technologies. Modernizing the energy system makes it possible to achieve the same results using less energy. This improves efficiency and reduces emissions.

The business association FME and the Vereniging voor Energie, Milieu en Water (VEMW) run the program. They work with RVO, environmental agencies and consulting firms.
