Remkes acquires majority interest in Heijs Food Products

YMBA, the company behind Remkes The Poultry Family, which includes poultry slaughterhouse GPS in Nunspeet - and the shareholders of Heijs Food Products in Hoogeveen signed a letter of intent for a far-reaching collaboration. YMBA will acquire a majority stake in the company. YMBA and the shareholders of Heijs Food Products want to complete the transaction before the summer.

Heijs Food Products is a specialised filleting company that operates in the higher segment of industrial food service and quick service restaurants. With approximately 200 employees, the company serves customers throughout Europe. GPS and Heijs Food Products have worked closely together as strategic partners in recent years.

With around 650 employees, Remkes processes around 20% of all broilers in the Netherlands. The various Remkes companies work closely together in a controlled chain. A specialised company such as Heijs Food Products was lacking in this chain.
