Our current food system is inadequate for the future. Steps are needed from farm to fork to ensure more responsible food with less ecological impact. With its 'Food Forward' programme, Rabobank wants to help entrepreneurs, consumers, students, government and partners find sustainable solutions, new business models and innovations.
The food issue is a challenge for everyone. In the Netherlands in particular, a difference can be made. It is not for nothing that we have been named 'The Tiny Country That Feeds The World'. Every region in the Netherlands excels in its own way, but also has its own challenges. Rabobank wants to start with regional solutions in order to work towards national solutions and ultimately they want to make a difference worldwide.
Part of the programme is the Food Forward Track: forming a team with everyone active in the food chain to really get to work. Trends and developments in the food and agro-economic landscape are mapped per region. Mainly on factors such as land use, employment and consumer behaviour. The outcome is reported in the Food Forward Regioscan. The focus is on the ecological, social and economic impact.
