As an expert in filtration, Randy Deden, working at IFB Filtertechniek, often sees dry-coolers, chillers and other cooling systems next to the air treatment systems. "These installations are less efficient due to the contamination, but cleaning them is difficult and time consuming. There must be something to be done about that, he thought, and his brain started spinning. He came up with an idea that he presented to Kelvion, a leading manufacturer of heat exchangers. Together they set to work on designing a screen that could be placed on the outside of an installation: it would capture coarse dirt as well as leaves, but also small particles such as insects and pollen.
The result is best compared to an advanced screen window, to be placed for installations such as cooling towers, chillers, dry coolers and other systems with a heat exchanger. "The Pro Safe Screen® saves the entrepreneur considerably in the maintenance and cleaning costs of the heat exchanger," says Randy. "Less pollution immediately results in a better efficiency of the installation. There is a lower risk of failure of the installation and Pro Safe Screen® extends the lifespan". The screen itself can be easily cleaned from the outside. It has a lifespan of 10+ years. IFB Filtertechniek gives a 5 year warranty on the material.
"Every screen is custom-made and therefore fits any fabrication and type of installation," continues Randy. "We come to the location ourselves to measure everything. Based on that we make a quotation and technical elaboration. The screen is easy to assemble and disassemble thanks to our developed ProFix ® mounting system. The customer can easily do this himself, but if desired we can also have it assembled by us or our own installer. A plus point is that the installation does not have to be stopped for this purpose".
