Many industries are struggling in corona time, but there are also sectors that are growing. For the first time in years, the number of butcher's students at SVO professional education food, a trainer for professionals in the food sector, has risen sharply. 35% more students started the mbo 2 course Production assistant butcher's shop. This means that butchers have enough confidence to invest and that it has been easier to find new employees since a long time.
As of this school year, considerably more students will follow an mbo 2 course Production assistant butcher's shop at SVO. During this part-time course, students will learn the basics of the butcher's trade. They go to school one day a week and work for their apprenticeship company the rest of the week. "Against all trends and expectations, the number of students has increased by almost 35% compared to last year, from 160 to 215," says Rinus de Rijder, education manager at SVO. "In recent years, we sometimes had to close a location because there were not enough students. The opposite is now the case. The increase is also not at the expense of our other courses. The butcher's section is really on the rise."
