`During the Slavakto trade show, Spako presented a new type of smoker: the Touch Smoke. This patented system is based on a very simple principle, in which a block of wood is placed against a hotplate. Since the wood smoulders rather than burns, the system can produce smoke at a lower temperature. Roeland Wasser, Director, expects that butchers who do not use liquid smoke will switch to Touch Smoke. “It’s a modern smoking system. Since it is so compact, we can easily integrate it in the door of small units. Furthermore, it is a virtually closed system so less smoke escapes, and it is easy to operate and to keep clean.”
