Phycom recently received an investment of €9 million to secure the production of top-quality microalgae on an industrial scale. This Dutch microalgae producer in Veenendaal sees this funding as recognition of the role of microalgae in the future of food for both humans and animals.
Involved parties recognize Phycom's technology as unique and sustainable, and believe that microalgae are essential for the food transition. Ruud Peerbooms of Corbion Algae Ingredients emphasizes the power of algae fermentation and the cooperation with Phycom for innovation. Boudewijn Poelmann of Phase2.earth sees microalgae as a key ingredient for future food, while Daan Meijer of Invest-NL praises Phycom for their technology and impact on a sustainable food system.
Eelco Benink of Invest International argues that investing in Phycom is in line with their AgriFood strategy, which helps achieve the SDGs and create jobs in the Netherlands. This will allow Phycom to grow internationally.
In addition to new investors, Phycom also received support from existing shareholders. With this investment, the company will expand, attract new board members, intensify marketing and fund technology development.
