The FNLI has launched a new prize at its annual meeting: the FNLI Award. The Front Runner Prize of the food industry! This prize will be awarded for the first time in 2019. The FNLI Award rewards the best initiative or project with potentially large impact on the important themes of the FNLI.
More and more manufacturers are concerned with challenges in the field of sustainable packaging, product improvement, innovative insights with regard to operationalisation, international responsible purchasing, energy savings and so on. This award gives the people behind these initiatives the attention they deserve.
Are you always a step ahead to make your product even safer, healthier and more sustainable? Did your team recently develope an innovative project in the field of reformulation, packaging or the prevention of food waste? Or do you know a colleague who deserves to be nominated for his/her innovative project?
Then register your colleague or yourself as a potential candidate for the new FNLI Award!
To qualify for the FNLI-Award, your registration must meet the conditions below:
- Person or Team (employee, team, department, company of an FNLI member)
- Project related to an FNLI work area/theme
- Current: project already (partly) developed (within the current year)
- Focus in the Netherlands (for example: product for the Dutch market, from the Dutch team, etc.)

The registration for this process will start soon. From all applications, the three most innovative, practical lectures with the greatest potential impact will be nominated for the FNLI-Award. Through a video you present yourself (or your team) with the project you have worked on. The jury, with stakeholders from the industry, will select the winner.
The winner receives the honourable title 'Frontrunner of the food industry' and also receives a cash prize of €5000,- to spend on the further development of the knowledge gained in the project. For example, following a training course, asking experts or making a study trip.
