KIDV and KVK launch Business Challenge Innovative Packaging

The Sustainable Packaging Knowledge Institute (KIDV) and the Chamber of Commerce (KVK) will launch the Business Challenge Innovative Packaging on 28 January 2021. Companies can submit a packaging challenge related to packaging and recycling and use the open innovation platform to find a solution to their challenge. This will bring them into contact with innovative packaging companies, start-ups, scale-ups, independent entrepreneurs and SMEs from the Netherlands, Europe and the rest of the world.

The collaboration aims to accelerate innovations. Every organization faces innovation challenges. Challenges for which you can make good use of the brain and cloth power of other smart entrepreneurs. "These can be, for example, challenges related to sustainability and the design of packaging, development of new packaging materials or the processing and recycling of packaging waste," explains KIDV director Chris Bruijnes.

"We need change, renewal and innovation. From better and more recycling, as is already happening in some countries, to groundbreaking innovation methods in our production and consumption systems. We should not shy away from doing production, logistics and consumption completely differently. Together with the Chamber of Commerce we are activating companies to take steps in this direction," Bruijnes said.

Companies can submit their challenges until May 1. On June 7, the entries will be made public on the innovation platform of the KVK. At that stage, parties with solutions can respond and get in touch with the submitters of the challenges. On July 12 the best solutions will be selected, after which KVK and KIDV will organize a meeting on July 23 between the challenge owners and the selected parties with good solutions.
