Jimmy Products BV, the producer behind the renowned Jimmy’s® Popcorn, Nachos, and Dips, has announced a significant step in its growth trajectory. The company has disclosed plans for constructing a new main office at the Dutch Fresh Port in Ridderkerk. This move aligns with the firm’s strategic vision for the future, wherein sustainability plays a key role.
The decision to establish the new headquarters at Dutch Fresh Port, a business park dedicated exclusively to circular and sustainable agrofood companies, reflects Jimmy’s commitment to sustainable practices. The forthcoming facility, spanning over 17,000 square meters, is designed to consolidate the company’s main office, production, packaging, warehouse, and distribution under one roof. This integration is poised to enhance operational efficiency significantly.
In line with its sustainability ethos, Jimmy’s plans to integrate several eco-friendly solutions in its new building. These include harnessing wind and solar energy, utilizing biogas, and implementing a specialized system for separating waste, storm, and process water. CEO Arjan Hooijmeijer emphasizes the importance of these sustainability measures, not only in their operations but also in resonating with their customer base and business partners.
Since its inception in 1992, Jimmy’s has steadily grown, establishing a robust market presence. Their products are a staple in cinemas and supermarkets both in the Netherlands and abroad. The new facility is expected to offer triple the operational space compared to their current two Dutch locations. It will provide employment for approximately 90 people, creating an inspiring, safe, and enjoyable working environment.
Jimmy’s has been acknowledged as the top-selling popcorn brand in the Netherlands and Belgium by an independent market research agency, a testament to its success and popularity. The Dutch Fresh Port offers an ideal setting for Jimmy’s next growth phase, anticipated to become a hub of innovative and sustainably operating agrofood companies.
The laying of the foundation stone on 17th November marks a celebratory milestone, signalling the commencement of this exciting new chapter. The new headquarters is scheduled to be operational by the end of 2024. This development cements Jimmy’s role as a progressive player in the agrofood industry and reaffirms its commitment to innovation, sustainability, and growth.
