A new exhibition hall, a larger exhibition area and all market leaders on board: Under the motto "Meet the Best", the IFFA will present the technological standards for the future from 4 to 9 May in Frankfurt am Main.
It is not for nothing that the IFFA is the number one meat industry: numerous well-known companies from all over the world present their innovations. Messe Frankfurt counts on more than 1,000 exhibitors from around 50 countries and expects more than 60,000 trade visitors from 140 countries. On an exhibition area of approximately 119,000 m2 - eight percent more than at the previous event - the manufacturers will present innovative technologies, trends and future-oriented solutions for all process steps in meat processing: from slaughter, cutting, processing and finishing to packaging and sales. For the first time, the new exhibition hall 12 will be inaugurated. This creates a circle that connects all IFFA halls.
Five top themes are central to the offering: optimised production, resource efficiency, packaging, digital solutions and food trends.
Tends, such as health and tailored nutrition, the demand for new meatless alternatives, new taste experiences and versatile forms of packaging, have a major impact on the meat industry. Seasonal products and specialties are becoming more important, product life cycles shorter and shorter. Therefore, the focus of investments in the meat industry is on solutions for process optimisation, increased profitability and overall system efficiency. After all, perfectly coordinated production processes can save food companies a great deal of time and money. When purchasing machines, the efficiency of the entire system is becoming increasingly important. Digital solutions play an essential role. Machines are equipped with innovative sensors, radio modules and measuring equipment. The enormous amount of data that this generates helps entrepreneurs monitor production and improve processes, and prevent downtime. Digitisation and flexibility make it possible to respond to changes in the production process at any time. The theme 'packaging' is mainly about saving materials, but also about guaranteeing food safety. Retail and consumers are making ever higher demands on quality, shelf life and food safety. Innovative packaging solutions can make an important contribution to the protection of the valuable raw material meat.
In addition to the exhibitors' product innovations, the IFFA offers a versatile peripheral programme in which current industry developments are addressed. There are various thematic lectures with best-practice examples, presentations and competitions. So there are plenty of opportunities for visitors to be informed, to discuss and to make new contacts. New this year are the guided tours. Industry experts will bring visitors to selected exhibitors and give an overview of exciting innovations. As always, the international quality contests of the Deutscher Fleischer-Verband are also among the highlights of each IFFA. The IFFA Forum gives technical impulses around the top themes and IFFA Kitchen shows a complete production line live. The current and complete IFFA edge programme can be found at www.iffa.com in the 'Themes & Events' section.
