Hessing Supervers opens new factory in Venlo

Frank Hessing recently received the Super Key, officially rounding off the completion of Hessing's production location in Greenport Venlo. With this sustainable Vegetable Fresh Factory, Hessing is taking an important step in making its business even more sustainable. From this production location, thousands of vegetables will roll off the conveyor belt every day from March 2023.

Continuity of production

Using automated processes, the new production location will process 320,000 kilos of vegetables into more than 850 different vegetable products every day. There will be 100 production lines for cutting, washing, drying and packaging fresh vegetables. But it goes beyond a vegetable cutting plant alone. Hessing has designed the plant so that it can also handle future product innovations. This is a real high-care environment where they can make all shapes, colours and sizes in terms of meals. 

According to Hessing, the factory in Greenport Venlo is the most sustainable Vegetable Fresh Factory in Europe. For instance, the building meets the latest sustainability standards, there is no gas connection and there are 12,000 solar panels on the roof.
