Henk Staghouwer new Minister of Agriculture, Nature and Food Quality

Henk Staghouwer will be the new Minister of Agriculture, Nature and Food Quality. Like his predecessor, Carola Schouten, he is a member of the Christian Union. Staghouwer is currently a member of the Provincial Executive of Groningen. He is responsible for the portfolios 'topsoil', 'agriculture and fisheries', 'nature and landscape', 'Wadden and Wadden fund', 'internationalisation' and the 'North Groningen area'. He has held this position since 2013. Before that, he was the owner of a bakery business.

As an experienced manager, Henk is now ready to get down to work with all the farmers, horticulturalists and fishermen in the Netherlands and to work towards a sustainable and future-oriented agriculture and fisheries and wants to commit to strengthening nature in our country.
