FSSC 22000 version 6.0 finally published

The new FSSC 22000 standard version 6.0 was published on 31 March 2023. Audits according to the previous version (5.1) of the standard can still take place until 31 March 2024. From 1 April 2024, all audits must be conducted according to version 6.0 of the FSSC 22000 standard.

Reason for change

The main factors that led to FSSC 22000 version 6.0 are:

Incorporation of the requirements of ISO 22003-1:2022 regarding the requirements for the audit and certification of a food safety management system (FSMS)
Adaptation of the requirements so that organisations can meet the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)
Some changes for continuous improvement of the standard
