MULTIVAC’s latest flow packers offer greater precision, flexibility, and full wet-cleaning capability. Each feature already sets the machines apart—without even considering the available options like MAP, integrated gas analysis, or the range of film and printing configurations.
The recently introduced W 500 and W 510 are built for high output in demanding production settings, combining speed with reliability. Both machines can pack up to 120 products per minute and are built to last, making them ideal for use in the food industry, among others.
The design focuses entirely on easy maintenance and hygienic wet cleaning. Thanks to the open stainless steel frame, components are easily accessible. Conveyor belts can be removed in under a minute, and the tiltable sealing unit simplifies cleaning. All food-contact parts are CIP-compatible. The modular build and cleverly removable parts make the machine easy to keep clean, especially in wet-cleaning scenarios.
The servo-driven box motion sealing systems deliver consistently hermetic seals. Sealing parameters such as pressure, time, and motion are set per product recipe and stored, allowing for quick and error-free changeovers. The smooth mechanical motion of the cross-seal system—with independent x/y movement and toggle levers—minimises wear and tear and ensures excellent seal quality.
These machines offer broad packaging flexibility: the W 500 feeds film from below the product with top sealing, while the W 510 does the reverse. Both models can handle tray and trayless packaging, different product orientations, and a wide variety of films—printed or plain. Thanks to a high level of automation, the line is easy to operate and dependable, even with inconsistent product infeed.
The machines also address the growing demand for plastic reduction. MULTIVAC confirms that both PP and PE monomaterials run smoothly without compromising on packaging quality or shelf appeal. This makes the W 500 and W 510 a sustainable, efficient, and versatile packaging solution for modern production lines.
