At Boermarke they are ready to go! The first production tests have been done and Boermarke will, as previously announced, deliver the first vegetable alternatives to traditional cheese in the Netherlands as well as within Europe early next year.
We are currently seeing that vegetable cheese is receiving overwhelming attention from the established brands. This offers us, as a private label producer, unprecedented opportunities to respond to the great demand from retail, industry and food service for private label vegetable cheese. This fits perfectly within the strategic objective of Boermarke to be the largest Dutch producer of fully fledged vegetable dairy alternatives.
After the successful launch of vegetable yoghurt in 2015, we immediately started the development of vegetable cheese. This resulted in a full range of vegetable cheese alternatives. Boermarke is the first vegetable cheese producer in the Netherlands to be able to produce, cut and package hard and semi-soft vegetable cheese alternatives on a large scale. To this end, considerable investments have been made in both R&D and production facilities. The production of the vegetable cheese takes place in a hypermodern factory equipped with the most modern cooking, grating and cutting lines.
The challenges for the coming years include cost efficient production, innovation towards (even) better product properties and new flavors. In short, to be the most innovative player in the market!
Besides the standard neutral flavors such as Gouda, Cheddar, Feta and Parmesan, which are now ready for production, we also have the flavors: fenugreek, cumin, mustard, garden herbs, chives, parsley, pesto, nettle cheese as possibilities.
This extensive assortment gives us, as the vegan innovator, the edge to produce and package slices, grater, dots, pieces and cubes. In addition, we also offer the industry possibilities such as pumpable cheese, cubes for a salad and grater for pizzas and lasagnes.
