Empack 2021 moved to September 8 & 9, 2021

The upcoming physical edition of the packaging trade fair Empack has been moved to 8 & 9 September 2021. The trade fair was scheduled to take place on 31 March and 1 April 2021 in Brabanthallen 's-Hertogenbosch, but organizer Easyfairs, in consultation with exhibitors, has decided not to wait any longer for the developments regarding the coronavirus. Exhibitors and partners of Empack support this decision. "Due to the great uncertainty about the continuation of the show, we have done an inventory among our current exhibitors regarding the continuation of Empack on the current date or a move to September 2021. It appears from this survey that a large majority chooses to move their participation to the autumn. In consultation, it was therefore decided to move the trade fair," says Rowdy van den Nieuwenhuizen on behalf of the Empack trade fair team.

Health and safety are top priority

Van den Nieuwenhuizen: "The choice to move the event was unavoidable. We were well prepared to organize Empack in a safe and responsible way, but in the recent period the corona situation changed rapidly. At the moment there is even a ban on trade fairs and events. We fully understand this, because we need to get this virus under control as soon as possible. We also expect that the measures aimed at keeping personal contacts and travel to a minimum will remain in place for the time being. This also changed the sentiment among the exhibitors and we understand that like no other. Hence, we have jointly decided to postpone Empack to September 8 & 9, 2021."

Empack 3.0

The last Empack edition took place in 2019, when the Brabanthallen was also the setting for a successful edition. "We are greatly looking forward to being able to facilitate again a meeting place where business is central, but where knowledge can also be gained during a renewed Empack 3.0 edition. In the coming months we will focus on the digital knowledge platform, where we want to provide our visitors with up-to-date information that they are looking for. Our visitors use our online platform year-round, in addition to the physical edition of Empack, to find packaging solutions for challenges they face on a daily basis," said van den Nieuwenhuizen.

The digital knowledge platform rollout

In a dynamic sector like packaging technology, it benefits to keep your finger on the pulse and know what trends, challenges and opportunities are current. With the elimination of the physical edition of Empack in 2020 and the edition in March 2021, the desire for the gathering and knowledge sharing has only grown. Van den Nieuwenhuizen: "As mentioned earlier, we are already offering relevant content, to our online visitors. Columns written by our knowledge partners, with which we will later make the link to the physical edition. Our exhibitors are given the opportunity to play a role in this and generate extra visibility through interviews and the 'in the spotlight' section. The basis of the platform is already online, but the exact layout and design will be implemented later."

The next edition of Empack will therefore take place on 8 and 9 September 2021 in Brabanthallen 's-Hertogenbosch. The exhibition floor annually has more than 300 exhibitors, who are visited by approximately 9,000 professionals from the Netherlands and abroad. This makes Empack the largest networking and knowledge event in the Netherlands for the packaging sector.
