Dutch Food Week 2023 Kicks Off in Arnhem

  • 03 October 2023

Dutch Food Week will open this year on Friday, October 6th at 12:30 PM with a market for everyone in the heart of Arnhem. Near the Eusebius Church, local producers and innovative entrepreneurs will engage with the public, aiming to strengthen the connection between farmer and citizen. That same afternoon, an exclusive gathering will take place at the House of the Province for invited guests.

At the Dutch Food Week's opening market, everyone can get a taste of Dutch Food Week 2023. "Know what you’re eating" is the motto, and thus numerous innovative, educational, and fun food concepts will be showcased, which will be a part of the week's events. The younger generation hasn't been forgotten either! They can take pictures with Fien and Teun, attend a cooking class led by TV chef Sandra Ysbrandy, or participate in the thrilling WRAP BATTLE.

Long Snack Platter

At the market in Arnhem, there will also be a 12-meter-long snack platter, giving a glimpse of products from various regions including Gelderland, Northern Netherlands, Almere, Beemster, Utrecht, and North Brabant.

Arnhem as the Host City

The province of Gelderland is one of the lead partners for Dutch Food Week 2023. Opening in Arnhem is a fitting choice. The formal assembly, including the presentation of the annual AgriFood Monitor, will be held in the House of the Province. Deputy Mayors Helga Witjes and Harold Zoet are involved with the Dutch Food Week, as is Alderman Marco van der Wel.

Dutch Food Week 2023 Program

Following the kick-off in Arnhem, hundreds of diverse events will be organized nationwide from October 7th to 14th. For instance, test your knowledge on October 11th during the National Food Quiz, or visit local businesses on October 14th to thank farmers, horticulturists, or fishermen for their hard work. Check the website for all details and to discover what other activities are happening near you!
