On Thursday 13 April, members of the Central Organisation for the Meat Industry (COV) approved the Fair Empolyment Code for flex workers. This code ensures more security for (international) temporary workers, by raising quality standards in hiring and outsourcing, with understandable contracts, fair competition and a level playing field in the sector.
A significant part of labour in the sector is filled in flexibly. COV member companies only use SNA and SNF certified temporary employment agencies. With the COV Fair Employment Code Flexworkers, the sector is taking further steps to ensure good working conditions and terms for flexworkers.
The code - on top of laws and regulations, the SNA and SNF standards and the Collective Labour Agreement for the Meat Sector - offers additional securities for this group of employees. The code includes regulations for both companies hiring flex workers and companies providing flex workers. The code can also be imposed on the hiring and temporary employment agencies they do business with.
Application of the COV Fair Employment Code Flexworkers Code is not optional. It is a binding decision of the association to which the Disciplinary Regulations apply.
