PALI Meat has announced the closure of its Oss facility, effective September 1, 2024. This decision follows the sale of the property, marking the end of meat processing activities at this location.
Earlier this year, PALI Group implemented significant changes. In April, the slaughterhouse in Geldrop was closed, driven by permit restrictions and limited growth opportunities. To maintain cost-efficiency and offer customers competitive market prices, PALI Group relocated its slaughtering operations to Compaxo in Zevenaar. Some of the pork processed in Zevenaar was further processed in Oss. With the closure of the Oss facility, this activity will cease as of September 1.
Despite the closure of the Oss facility, PALI Group remains active in the pig trade. The buying and selling of piglets, pigs, and sows will continue uninterrupted. Moreover, PALI Group has expanded its team and is committed to strengthening its position in the pig trade. This indicates a strategic focus on growth and consolidation within the sector, despite the recent closures of production sites. The company is clearly taking steps towards further optimization and expansion of its trading activities.
