The first steps

There are several alternatives on the market for gasless steam production; one of them is generating steam with electricity. This is done by means of an electric steam boiler or e-boiler, whereby no emissions are emitted.

An electric steam boiler is connected to the electricity grid. Are you considering this solution? First of all, contact your energy supplier to find out whether an electrical connection is possible and what maximum power can be supplied.

When you know that a connection is possible, contact a steam boiler supplier. Scharff Techniek can, together with you, pre-calculate your power consumption on the basis of your production wishes and the matching boiler(s). The electrical power needed depends on your steam demand. Variables such as the temperature and the heating time are important. Then the required power can be checked with the energy supplier.

Increasing sustainability with small interventions

Is the connection of an electric steam boiler not (yet) possible? There are other measures you can take in the meantime to reduce fuel consumption. This can be as much as 25% by reducing the steam pressure, insulating the boiler and piping, regularly checking steam traps and turning off the boiler when there is no steam demand for a longer period of time.
