Alpro inspires to help save the planet through food

  • 22 April 2021

On Earth Day (22 April 2021), Alpro will launch its new "Help the planet while you eat" campaign. The goal is to inspire as many people as possible to choose vegetable products more often, because this is good for them and for the planet.* Part of the campaign is the 'Planetary Plate'. This plate visualises a daily and weekly menu to help you stay healthy and with which you eat and drink within the boundaries of the planet. So less animal and more vegetable products, without making concessions when it comes to good food. Up to 30% of global CO2 emissions are linked to food production & consumption.** A more plant-based diet can reduce this. The start of the campaign coincides with the renewal of the B Corp certificate that Alpro proudly carries since 2018.

Alpro wants to show that eating more plant-based food is an impactful way to reduce the ecological footprint. The Planetary Plate can be part of almost any diet. Plant-based drinks, plant-based variations of yoghurt and other plant-based variations are part of the solution when it comes to taking care of our planet. It is also easy to integrate into the daily diet. More vegetable means that vegetable products will play a bigger role on the plate than animal products, but nothing is forbidden. It is about a flexible food pattern and, of course, about tasty food. In the coming period Alpro will make this message known to the general public via various channels.

Vegetable mission

Alpro has had a plant-based mission since its launch in the 1980s and sustainability is in the company's DNA. With the new marketing campaign "Help the Planet while you eat", Alpro shows in concrete terms what the company has stood for for years; more vegetable-based food for everyone, which is good for people, animals and the planet.
