5 partners work on affordable meat substitutes

The REACT-EU development project 'GALATEA', focuses on investing in the development of innovative, affordable and juicy meat substitutes. The aim is to have an innovative prototype production line complete and operational by the end of 2023 for this purpose.

The developed products are both tasty and healthy, long-lasting and convince consumers to become flexitarians or vegetarians, without feeling like they are sacrificing anything in return. On the contrary, consumers see the products as dietary enrichment.

To this end, five innovative and ambitious partners are working together, which are developer and producer Bflike (Elst), machine developer van Uhm (Borne, SME), restaurant chain and chilled meal producer Humphrey's (Nijmegen), Airofiller Equipment Solutions (Houten) and innovative product and technology developer in the food industry TOP BV (Wageningen).
