After the departure of Dé van de Riet at the end of last year, Stichting Vlees.nl tried to keep up the dynamics of the interactive communication platform with a great deal of art and flying and extra effort from Bureau Jeen and Remkco van der Zwaag. In the intervening period, a suitable successor was sought within the network. This has now been found in the person of Jort Heijmans (42).
Jort is an analytical and practical/pragmatic person. After his studies in animal sciences at the WUR, he held a number of sales and marketing positions in the animal feed industry in which he was responsible for, among other things, developing go to market packages per customer segment / channel and supporting local customer teams in 26 countries. Jort has also been active for some time as an independent entrepreneur in the meat sector. His company was engaged in the production and marketing of premium quality Limousin beef and ready-made beef stew directly to the consumer. Recently, Jort carried out assignments on a freelance basis for communication agency Jeen, including the production of several short films for the annual report of the COV Master Plan 2025.
Vlees.nl is confident that with Jort a suitable person has been found for further development. Jort will take up the implementation of the current policy plan and play an active role in working with chain partners to give a strong extra impulse to strengthen the image of Dutch meat. Jort was officially launched for vlees.nl last week (4 days a week). For the time being it will be under the auspices of bureau Jeen for a few months, but with the intention of formally taking up employment as communication manager of Stichting Vlees.nl from 1 January 2021.
