Roosterz&Co retail precooked chicken

  • 30 July 2019

The product range of Roosterz&Co has been expanded with a 'Ready for Meals' series especially for the retail sector. In this way, Roosterz&Co serves consumers not only with the existing chicken bites but also with pre-cooked chicken products, such as chicken strips and cubes. Just like the bites, these products will be placed in the freezer compartment, although at the request of the retailers it is also possible to choose a fresh assortment.

The trend towards greater convenience in the kitchen underlies Roosterz&Co Ready for Meals. With overloaded diaries, there is little room for extensive daily cooking, which is why consumers are increasingly opting for quick meals and salads. Pre-cooked chicken products fit in perfectly with this; quick and easy to add to any dish and certainly tasteful. Think for example of the possibilities to enrich a salad with chicken strips, the use of chicken cubes as pizza topping or pre-cooked chicken pieces added to a sauce.

Since the products are pre-cooked, they do not necessarily need to be heated and can be eaten defrosted. Heating is of course also possible. The products are placed in a handy tray that is suitable for oven and microwave, which makes them even more convenient.

The products are packed per 200 grams. At the bottom of the packaging you will find a recipe for inspiration. When deciding on the packaging, attention was paid to sustainability. By choosing a cardboard tray with a top film, 90% less plastic is needed. The packaging has been constructed in such a way that the cardboard and the foil can easily be separated for recycling.

For the time being, the Roosterz&Co Ready for Meals range consists of 6 products, namely roasted chicken cubes, roasted chicken strips, roasted chicken slabs, roasted chicken pieces, Southern Fried breaded goujons (chicken tenderloin) and Southern Fried breaded chicken fillets. The chicken products contain little salt and are halal. This makes them suitable for a large number of groups with specific wishes and requirements (such as the elderly, various cultures).

By the end of 2019, the first products are expected to be available at a number of retailers in Europe.
