In the Biosintrum in Friesland, the closing night of the very first Rabo Food Forward Track took place on Thursday 17 October. On this evening the two previously nominated cases were presented to the jury.
The winning case was: MijnVoedingsMaat, the medicine of the future right NOW! The other project 'Vitale bodem = Vitale toekomst' came second.
Healthy eating is different for everyone, this has to do with your digestion, hormonal balance and your own taste. MijnVoedingsMaat wants to discover what is healthy for each individual. They do this by means of a blood value test, an exploration of the DNA and an inventory of the food preferences of the person in question. In this way, the project aims to ensure less waste, a healthier life and a better environment.
The first events of this concept will soon be organized in Friesland. About 50 people will be selected for a trial run. The food preferences will be inventoried on the basis of a questionnaire drawn up by Wageningen University.
Once the personal dietary advice has been completed, the participants and a nutrition consultant go on a trip to the supermarket. The ingredients they choose together are transformed into a meal by a chef. Over the next three months, participants will eat meals according to their own personal recipes. This will be followed by a new measurement to see what effect the project has had on the health of the participants.
Both the production and consumption of food must be made more sustainable if we are to have enough food for everyone by 2050. That is why Rabobank launched the Rabo Food Forward programme this year. This is organised throughout the Netherlands in 14 regions and aims to launch a national movement towards a more sustainable future for our food. Rabobank investigates opportunities and threats in the Food & Agri sector in all regions and drives initiatives that are sustainable solutions and innovations for tomorrow's food problem. This cannot be solved individually, which is why Rabobank brings the entire food chain together. From farm to fork: entrepreneurs, consumers, partners and opinion makers.
